THE LONGEST COASTAL PATH IN THE WORLD - A NATIONAL EVENT WITH A LOCAL IMPACT
On Sunday 16 August 2026, Plymouth International Rotary Club will proudly lead the way in one of the South West’s largest community fundraising events. Rotarians from clubs across the district will be joined by families, friends, businesses and members of the public to walk designated sections of the King Charles III England Coast Path. Together, they will raise funds for local charities and good causes, while shining a spotlight on the tremendous impact these organisations make across our region.
Rotary has already written to His Majesty The King about this special occasion. At 10:00am, the starting signal will be given at Sandringham Park, with participating Rotary clubs and walkers across England setting off at the same time. The route has been divided into manageable sections of approximately three miles, giving people of all ages and abilities the opportunity to take part in this unique nationwide initiative.
This is a walk for everyone – not a race, relay or endurance challenge. Whether you complete one section or several, it’s an opportunity to experience the spectacular South West coastline while making a genuine difference. Above all, the King’s Walk is about bringing people together, promoting wellbeing, celebrating community spirit and creating a memorable day with a lasting local impact.
